Abstract/Artist Statement

ARRC Engineers will be designing a new administration building for the City of Manteca Public Works Department with the location adjacent to Manteca’s Wastewater Quality Control Facility (WQCF). ARRC Engineers will design the administration building as well as the parking area next to it, making the building easily accessible. The new administration building will hold over 100 employees and will be 2 stories tall. The purpose for the new building is to hold offices for all divisions of the City of Manteca Public Works, which include the Engineering Division, the Water Division, the Sewer Division, and the Solid Waste Division.

For decades, the separate divisions of the City of Manteca Public Works have been located in separate buildings across Manteca. This has caused many of the employees from separate divisions to travel around Manteca to communicate or work with other members in different divisions. By designing this new administration building, all the divisions of Public Works can be located together. This would enhance communication between the Public Works’ divisions and will save the organization time when they need to meet. The building will promote collaboration between the different divisions, which would aid with future development around Manteca.
