Abstract/Artist Statement

TrackHub is an interactive music player that allows users to create an account, stream music, rate songs, chat with other members. It allows users to see a history of their songs. One of the design goals when creating TrackHub was to make it cross platform, so it’s implemented it as a website available to run in any modern web browser. The main features that distinguish TrackHub from other music players are its rating/review, chat, and music video integration.

The "crossfade" functionality allows users to seamlessly listen to tracks one after the other with no awkward pauses. TrackHub also has a mood feature that lets the user enter their mood into a text box and TrackHub uses an algorithm to generate a playlist including songs related to a TrackHub user’s mood.

The application also includes the ability to create a local copy of another user’s playlist with the option to make changes to it. TrackHub supports collaborative playlists and give users notifications when changes are made to playlists. TrackHub gives users the ability to purchase concert tickets and see when and where artists are performing. Inclusively, TrackHub also includes links to purchase songs on sites like Amazon. TrackHub aims to be a hub for music lovers and enthusiasts to listen, share, chat, and enjoy their music experience.
