Abstract/Artist Statement
Our film is about a teenage boy who struggles to receive the acceptance of his mother. His passion is art and his mother's passion is for her son to exceed academically. We follow along as the mother learns to accept her son the way he is. We chose acceptance as our one word because accepting other people as they are is the first step to healthy interpersonal relationships as well as the building of a community and a good society. Feeling accepted allows people to speak up and let their voice be heard, and everyone's opinion is important in order for our communities to grow stronger.
