Description

Bicoid and Nanos specify the anteroposterior axis of a developing Drosophila embryo. Bicoid is the "head organizer" - it is expressed at the anterior end of the embryo, depleting Bicoid gives a smaller head and increasing the amount of Bicoid gives a larger head.
