[4]Of course I am not positively certain that I can come myself but think if all the others are favorable I can get things arranged in time -Hoping that you are well and that good health has been regained in the valley I am as everYour affectionate sisterJoanna-[1]Port Norfolk VaSep. 27, '09Dear brother JohnHere we are at home again, Ethel and myself and find everything all right, even the chickens, which we left in care of a neighbor boy;Soon after reading my last letter to you, I received one from brother Dan, advising that Bessie remain in Nebraska until the [illegible] be eliminated from her system and suggesting that when we return from the proposed Muir reunion would be time enough to take her home - So I just thought I would write and ask04595 [2]you when you thought would be the best and most convenient time for such a gathering of the Muirs-For some time past Mary and Dan have been asking me to come out to Nebraska and make them a visit of a [illegible]th or two so as to get thoroughly rested and then join them and all go to California, and there get together once more before the evening of old age so for over takes us that we will be unable to travel-,It occurred to me that now then my own family is so broken up it would be a good time for me to pull out[3]and make an attempt to do my part toward the reunion as I certainly can never be any younger and I fear no stronger in this climate. You bring the oldest brother and so near to Margaret, who is the most feeble, we would expect to make your house the grand meeting place at some appointed time. How do you think next Christmas would suit?I think I will write and ask San and, Mary if that time will suit them and in the mean time I will hope to receive a speedy reply from yourself
