Darling Helen,
I gladly got your letter of the 12th telling all's well with you. I sent you a pineapple & Goldberg odds & ends yesterday by freight. The cigars are for Dick therefore you will not try them..
Can't say when I will be down - The business as yet is all incomplete though hopeful of favorable consummation. The weather is now charming but roads are all but impassible. Mr Duane has not been able to fill orders for trees but will soon Tell Mr Vandyke this - the almond tree at the house is in bloom. Better not part with Miss B. until you can get some other girl. Have been lonely. The Pecheco family almost my only visitors. The quails I mean
