[Jan.,1902]
Mr. Olaf F. Ellison,
5 l/2 Kearny St.,
San Francisco.
My dear Sir:
I an sorry that I was away at the Grand Can [you] when Miss Gertrude P. Boyle, introduced by your kind note of Jan. 15th, called at our house, and I am sorry that I missed seeing her. I had already heard of her and her work through Mrs. Swett, our neighbor, an admirer and friend of hers, and should have been glad to meet her.
The sitting for a bust seems likely to prove a serious interruption to the work now on my hands. I am looking forward to the spring, when I hope to find a little leisure, and will then be able to see her.
With best wishes, I am,
Very truly yours,
J. M.02890
