Dear Sir:

I have sent you today by registered mail my article on glaciers. it has been hard to keep it within the 3000 word limit. The man responsible for the squeezing of so broad & important a subject into a space so narrow must be gifted with magnificent tranquil glacial ignorance.
I also send a few photographs from which to choose illustrations. Please return them when you are through with them. Those copyrighted by E. H. Harriman I have permission to use.
Hoping the article will please you I am faithfully yours

I am going abroad at the end of this month to be gone until November or December. It will not be necessary for me to see proof if carefully compared with the M.S. Should you wish me nevertheless to revise it, send me a line addressed, Arnold Arboretum Jamaica Plan Mass. Care of Prof. C. S. Sargent. & I will try to give you some points on my trip where proof may reach me
