I have the honor of sending this introduction to you by my friend, Prof. John Muir, L. L. D.
Professor Muir visits your country to more freely acquaint himself with its many interesting features, and particularly its Glacial Geology, in which study he stands in the highest rank in this country.
In grateful and vivid remembrance of the courtesies I received at your hands in 1897, I feel assured that similar treatment will he accorded my friend, who hears to you my high esteem and compliments.
Very respectfully,
