On train for Jacksonville

Savanah GA

Nov 12, 1898

Dear Louie,

Here is where I spent a hungry weary yet happy week camping is Bonaventura Graveyard 32 yrs ago. Many changes I'm told have been made in its groves & [avenues?] of late, & how many in my life. Have been on the train all night, slept well It is now 8.30a.m. Sargent is out for breakfast I had my coffee 2 hrs ago. S is quite well & we look forward to a pleasant trip thro the Florida peninsula. The weather is cool & healthy.
I'm not yet quite sure

that I can get through the quarantine against Yellow fever after visiting Key West If not Ill go North again I hope to hear from you at Jacksonville either today or a week or two later on my return from Key West I had a good time at Wilmington Baltimore & Washington driving thro the parks but had no opportunity to see people, the forest colors were glorious. Saw jolly Canby again, Had a good time with Tesla, Hobson Gilder & Johnson before I left New York last Tuesday evening. & the 4 days with the Gilder family in the Berkshire Hills & 4 days with the Osborns make a bright show in memory.

Ever Yours
