[Ann Gilrye] Muir
Portage April 22d 1892
Your very kind and generous present came safely. for which I thank you very much. What a happy surprise we had when our dear John made his appearance amongst us so unexpectedly but his visit here was a very short one as he and David left Portage two days ago for Lincoln Neb where they will have a pleasant visit with their brother Daniel
The two letters you sent to John came after he had gone but were sent forward immediately Today we are having quite a snow storm although we have had pleasant weather lately I hope your family and Mrs. Reids are all well Annie joins me in kindest love to you all
