Ded 20th /84Dear Brother and SisterI will just send a few words at this time to let you know how we are getting along. We are very lonely, and sorry since the shiny arrow we were wont to [leave?] upstairs but we try to do the best we can, trusting in the strength of that [illegible] that will not fail us in our time of need. We are living in Portage outside of the [illegible] [illegible] of the town. Anna is at home with us Celia is teaching school about eight miles out in the country. she is home every week so we have not time to [illegible] Louie is attending school here and is getting along very nicely with her studies. Anna has not been well for two or three weeks but is much

001147better now. Mother keeps well this winter and comes to see us quite frequently. [Katy?] is very ill she suffers a great deal but still is able to be up the greater part of the time, the others of the family are well. I trust you are all well.and able to enjoy [struck out work] the blessings with which you are surrounded. May the New Year bring you gladness and all true happiness. Wanda will have grown so much since we sew her has she quite forgotten us yet? I wish I could see her, tell her Auntie "[Judy?] " wishes her a very happy Christmas. and glad New Year may God bless the dear little one. I am feeling much better than I hav been but am not very strong yet. Remember me to the Dr. and Mrs. Strentzel. write to me and tell me all you know I would like to [hear?].
