I often think of you and the pleasant Sunday morning we spent up the R.R. track last Summer "where do you intend Studying medicine I am exceeding busy every day. I [illegible] I have almost engaged too much for my limited experience in the way of hard work for this Spring at least" but I hope with good luck and God's bless ing to go thro with it all How much I wish at times I could like you lay aside all care and Business and persue some thing that would not bring so much responsibility & worldly anxiety I hope soon however to be less engaged and give more time to reading & the improvement of my mind" Please write me again soon I shall always be glad to hear from you and hope to some day be able to spend a few weeks with you in sudy[illegible] [illegible]

My Dear Friend Your very kind and welcome favor of Jany. 1st '65 was rec'd in due course of [illegible] and was read with much interest and pleasure" I am sure I feel ashamed that I have neglected or rather been preocuted replying to you before this" My only apology is pressure of business I never was so busy and so much engaged in my life as I have been since I came here" I have thought of you every week and intended 40 times to sit down and write you but never till now have I succeed to have time" I was really glad to hear that you were comfortably situated in your house and hope the time will shortly arrive when you will be able to commence your studies and go through

your course and graduate in medicine" I was pleased to learn you were so much interested with Niagara Falls and the trip to and from them" I wish I had been [illegible] St Cathar[illegible] where you passed through" I could have treated you to some good fruit at least" I hope you will visit me on the Islands next Summer and come when the grapes are ripe so that we can give you some Catauba grapes such as can only be grown on these Islands. My Partner & I shipped 7 tons to Philadelphia and made about $350. clear - I sold the piece of land [illegible] last summer in the Fall and made $700 clear - I am very busy clearing a piece of land. I have 7 Me[illegible] all from Canada with me. My sister & Bro-in-law are with me "we have quite a

pleasant little community here I am feeling quite at home" We have a good Minister and Preaching twice each Sunday & a good Sabbath School & day School" We are to have a new Church & Parsonage with in the Spring". I was in Bradfon in January and had a good time. I saw D. & A Campbell and was at their house they were all quite well and said they intended writing to you" How has the winter been with you? here it has been exceedly severe we have had good [illegible] Si[illegible] the Middle [illegible] and have been able to go to Sa[illegible] with Horse & Cutter or Sleighs quite regularly we are 20 miles from Main land the [illegible] is beginning to break up now & our chances for a good crop of grapes seem good. I wish you could taste our grape [illegible] -
