Quails, Creamy [ ] on dark Shadows inky gls purple towards [sun] silver edged glaring then dim & smooth, with vert walls of ice Crevasses

2 Trip to foot of Sentinal Cascades Alt of larger ab val 13 Slope 30° [degrees] Smaller 550 ft Moraine matter together with matter torn from the rock by snow avalanches mingled to form large slopes of talus not easily distinguished [from] from earthquake slopes Some have large trees growing upon them, where all slope above has been long ago swept bare of moraine matter etc & subsegment avalanches [bring] down nothing? Upper part of avalanches have finer rocks & mud. Fine specimen of at foot of smaller Cascade
