Monday April 27, 1896 Slightly rainy- cloudy & cool almost cold
Tuesday 28 Slight showers but mostly dry. The wind taking back the rain rapidly. The roads as if by magic dry almost dusty.
Wednesday 29 Fine hearty showers half wet half dry. Received bath tub. X Had pleasant visit from Mr. Watson pres’t [president] of Crater Lake Club. Gave him copy of my book, Folder List of Writings Sargent’s review, Sequoia paper, etc.
Thursday 30 Still cold & cloudy with showers
Friday May 1, 1896 Dark cloudy rainy
Saturday 2 Cloudy forenoon then clear & warmer. Attended meeting of the Sierra Club in Academy of Science Building. Was elected president again for the 4th or 5th time. Took Professor Davidson, Prof. Bradley, Prof. Stillman, Mr. Watson & Mr. Wilbur of Oregon], Mr. Olney & Mr. Libby to lunch at University Club.
