Moderate strength of falls Vernal falls very beautiful. Ferns all gone by grubbery and grabbing. Waiting, watching reverent attitude of onlooking trees at head of Vernal falls. Pleasant company. Soil where sloping and friable not yet planted, penstemon Castelleia, lovely emerald meadows, Juniper on Clouds Rest tale, Large pink mimulus abundant and showy on Clouds Rest ridges on toward Cathedral peak, Grand mountain pines. Byranthus out of flower until 9000 feet in glory at Cathedral Lake fringing bald rocks in seams, and decking covering bowlders in sod- Small dodecatheons decking daintily pool sides next the water Blue and purple penstemons small at Cathedral meadows and lake the sod much diversified by small cloudlike patches of gnaphalium very tall in moraine drie meadows the wet ones fine emerald, touched with yellow buttercups and potentella and soledago, the last now in flower at 8000 feet.
