24 curiously curled & hillocked mor [moraine], medial of 1st grand trib [tributary] NW of snow [dome] [sketch] All curled to S & occur when the gl [glacier] is full of pits bowls & hillocks Red slate, with a little gray granite evidently derived from another medial with 10 or 15 yds [yards] of it [rolled] on

it while in bowl The first Grand trib [tributary] is very much broken as it issues from its magnificent [ ] mtn [mountain] [girt] pure white basin to join the Main icy crystal [sea] & presents a [grand] most noble appearance with its many fountain peaks clustered & crowded [paying] them tribute to swell its grand current. I crossed its flood a mile or two below its confluence where its shattered current was reunited. A surprising number of rills & good sized brooks swiftly
