[sketch] Cloud wreathed mountain at the [head] foot of Walker River Valley
Clouds are put on mountains in more exquisite order than wearing apparel upon ladies. every vapor particle is as well put in place as to color form & light & shade as God can do it Nor in all the mists & fogs & clear drawn cumuli nor in the wondrous refractions that build fantastic mounts in the air is there anything really illusive all to nature is solemn & substantial matter of [radical] fact cloud lands are swept away but so also are the rock lands
