McAlister as to his not [illegible]ing lists of names for membership.Martinez, Nov. 27, 1896My dear Mr. Lukens.I have received the magnificant lot of photographs you sent me & am very much interested & obliged. I hope I shall be able to make good use of some of them as illustrations. In looking them over I wanted to ask you a good many questions suggested. & hope when you come here to be able to do so. I wrote to McAllister about the names you sent in for membership in our Club & hope ere this that you have heard from him. I hope to see him tomorrow & will let you know. I hope ere long to hear from the U.S. Forestry Commission.With regards to Mrs Lukens Mr Dyer & the Jones I am ever Cordially & thankfully yrs.John Muir
