[marginalia]Martinez, July 30, 1896.My dear Sellers.A week or two ago I went through the Yellowstone Park with the Forestry Commission, & almost every step of the way, I was reminded of our fine wild camping trip with Catlin & his dispeptic east or west powder bread, & raw frontierism as well as the free jolly time we had. Those good old days have gone never to return. Now even the bears are tame I stayed with the Commission until a week or so ago when we reached Spokane after examining the Black Hills forests, those of the Yellowstone & the Rocky Mountains generally especially about the headwaters of the Columbia. I start for Alaska next Sunday hoping to get back in time to rejoin my
