[Robert U.] Johnson
Martinez, Feb. 7/09Dear Mr Johnson:I've been away in Southern California preaching the Tuolumne gospel All the Pasadena & Los Angeles press is on our side in the H. H. fight. The Los Angeles Times is especially influential. Had long talk with Gen Otis. What a glorious old hero you are in this fight. Well may you do your best for the Yosemite Park for to you more than any other it owes its existence. What a load you are carrying! Don't kill yourself- but watch & pray & strike as you may. All as far as I can see favors our side. Have ordered 50 copies pamphlets sent you The Outlook is capital - Here is reply to Garfield.Ever faithfully yours John Muir
