little trips together & a very happy time in Edinburgh. they are so kind one can't help being happy with them. indeed all the Dunbar people are the same. Mrs Dick & the Pinkerton people & lots more. Jane Mather was here the other night. She is very well & a good [school?]I have been reading with great interest your writings in "Picturesque California" they make me long to see the country myself. Very many of my cousins have read your "Mountains of California" with great interest & hope when you come back again to see you too. They all live in Northumberland & are Ann Gilroys children.
