sleighing - This is first time we have all together since last summer, as Avenell & Carol are now at boarding school & come home only at holiday time. Is there any chance of you coming east?Sincerely YoursE. H. HarrimanJohn MuirMrs Harriman's brother Mr Avenell who was with us on Alaska trip died suddenly two months ago & his wife & daughters are staying for the holidays with us here.Dec 30th 1904ArdenOrange Co. N.Y.Dear Mr MuirYour letter of October 18th reached me here in proper time. I cannot give excuse for not acknowledging it before for I simply don't know why I intended to but — It's right here on my desk now & has been all along. I want to let you know how glad I was to hear from you & know you had returned safely. The journey must have be very interesting to you & I will be glad to hear your wonderful tales. Mrs Harriman & the girls also hope for some good luck. Some of us will probably get out to the Pacific Coast during the winter or spring & will me hope then see & talk with you. We have been here for the X-Mas holidays & the children have had fine times skating and03492
