Is there any chance of you coming east?Sincerely YoursE. H. HarrimanJohn MuirMrs Harriman's brother Mr Avenell who was with us on Alaska trip died suddenly two months ago & his wife & daughters are staying for the holidays with us here.Dec 30th 1904ArdenOrange Co. N.Y.Dear Mr MuirYour letter of October 18th reached me here in proper time. I cannot give excuse for not acknowledging it before for I simply don't know why I intended to but — It's right here on my desk now & has been all along. I want to let you know how glad I was to hear from you & know you had returned safely. The journey must have be very interesting to you & I will be glad to hear your wonderful tales. Mrs Harriman & the girls also hope for some good luck. Some of us will probably get out to the Pacific Coast during the winter or spring & will me hope then see & talk with you. We have been here for the X-Mas holidays & the children have had fine times skating and03492
