Sarah [Muir Galloway]
the likiness too is good, I have seen one in another paper which I think must have been taken from the same negative. You ask me to try to find out how Joanna is getting on in regard to money matters that is something that I think she will be very slow to make mention of. still if I do find out that she is in need at any time I will let you know. I think that she would put aside a part of her money for a time of need and that for some time at least she will be alright. from her letters Walter seems to be very kind and helpful and they are all very happy. and comfortable.I send many thanks for your giftLovinglySarah.Portage, Wisc.Jan. 11/98Dear Brother JohnYesterday I received your letter with your cordial good wishes for a happy New Year. It is a long time since I have received a few lines from you and it did me good to see your handwritting once more, and to receive your greeting.Your order with its kind remembrance is also here, and I have divided it into portions for the usual number. They are more scattered than they have been before02381
