I am very uneasy over the interruption of my corres- pondence with John Muir - Some- time in the fall I received a line from him at Cedar Keys, Florida telling me that he was sick there and asking me to write to an address which he gave me. I immediately complied, and be- fore my letter could have rea- ched him received a second asking me to direct to New Orleans where he was intending to go. To the latter place I sent a long letter filled with everything which I thought [illegible] him - and I [illegible] 06082
