Town of Buffalo Jan 15, 1861Dear Sa[illegible] I again write you in that I am about to start for Portage I was at Mary's yesterday she is a great deal better She is to be there to night to stop over night I have sent you incloSed $20- I need not tell you about what is going on here as you will soon be here yourself & then you will See I only say be sure to continue in the faith & be about your fathers business indure hardships like a good solder of Jesus Christ every thing seems like [ding & dross?] compared with that. Suffering will soon be over & glory with all its beauty in [illegible]essed
