He prefers the red and I the green - a true woods color for me!I presume you are busy over the Hetch Hetchy matter. I am glad to see Senator Works has taken it up. I almost wish you would go on to Washington and enlist the heads on the right side. Many are in real ignorance and so many are working for the wrong side.I have heard no word from the travellers. Prof. Hale is in [Conn.?] and did not meet them. I presume their days are full. Wanda went off in high feather.I trust the book comes on apace I hate to think of you drudging every minute and never eating. Bessie was disappointed not to see you here. I shall be in S.F. one morning only the 27th at05494[4] [is really p. 3]if you could come over from Martinez and we'd meet you at the Monterey Hotel, headquarters for the stage that runs every Monday Wednesday and and Friday at 7.30 a. m. and yave the stage ride together. We go down from the Stewart Hotel San Francisco Sunday eve July 27th so as to start up the mountain on Monday the 28th.Donald is going to visit N. Y. Boston, Phil. and Washington in the Fall and get in touch with the Museums. He is so much better, it makes me very happy. He is anxious to meet Frank Chapman and I hope he can meet that Mr Ridgway, of whom you spoke so highly. I dont know that he will be brave enough. People are after him to write a bird-book but he is under contract to Mr. Dawson for the material he has at present.I have just been in danger of breaking the tenth commandment over a beautiful edition of your05494
