01567Portage April 18th 1892Dear Louie-I reached here Thursday night. The store is sold, & [guided?] by advice of David’s friends we did not buy – fearing trouble from creditors. David is greatly worn & distressed, & is threatened with inflammation of the brain. I will get him away from here as soon as I can. Mother, Sarah, & Annie were I find hard up when I sent the first fifty dollars I have them fifty a piece more when I arrived, & the next day your fifty
