R[obert] U[nderwood] Johnson
01422[letterhead]April 29. 1890Dear Mr. Muir:I have your two letters and thank you for them. I am sending the MS and will write you soon. Leave the Kings River Canon till another time, but give us the Tuolumne at once & cheer the heart of yours truly. How auspicious an angel would grow in California! You are "all off" about Mackenzie, or I'm a pumpkin. I wish you would write me a letter to show to the Committee on Public Lands supporting the suggestion (your own by the way) to extend the Vandever limits. It need not be long but it ought to be emphatic. Yours in hasteR. U. Johnson
