Transcription

Martinez Oct 16, 1890My dear Mr. JohnsonIm up to the scalp in Tokay Muscat & Zinfandel, fairly stupid with excess of industry, shipping about 2000 boxes of grapes every day. Hope soon to be free for real work in the wilderness. Have seen Robinson. Dont like his sketches much. My own are more telling I think. I want to take another run into the Kings River Yosemite before I write, & if the weather remains quiet I will. Saw Kerr & Prof Davidson about the Elias business I guess Kerr is all right. Irish is wild about your success in Yosemite reform.John P.Irish he Says let Yosemite Valley be.
