83900891March 13, 1880.Dear John,Your letter of Tuesday did not reach me until last night, when I made search and found the precious notebooks, to our astonishment! for I asked you just before we left if you had them. Mother seemed so bright and comfortable that I think it will be safe fore me to leave her in Mrs. Branchs care for two or three days while I go seeking that “satisfactory” carpet for papa grows daily more inpatient over household affairs.
