[2]since he came home, and rides out nearly every day being too weak to walk much Joanna’s health slowly but steadily improves, she does not require to wear her glasses unless the sun shines very bright All the rest of the family with their families are in there usual health -, which I look upon as a very great blessing to us all, I hope your close application to study has not injured your health any — the change to you is so very great from being constantly in the open air, I often – think of you, and hope you are happy, I hope the second pair of socks has found their way safely to you — Anna is still engaged [3]in teaching, but all the schools have this day as a holiday, here so Anna and Carrie. M, have gone off the visit Sarah at the farm — she is glad to have an oppertunity of riding out — Sarah has a very pleasant home, in Jan., [illegible] last I spent a week with her, very pleasantly indeed, and David’s Mother has exchanged this mortal state for immortality, what a great blessing to be ready for the great change — I trust when we are called away, we shall be found clothed with the garment of salvation and fitted for glory through the great sacrifice that has been made for our redemption — Your father says he intends to write to you —
