It went right to work like an old saw-mill the first minute of its exist[illegible] It belongs to Mr Hutchings I am making lumber for him now just think of working at the bottom of a fall 2600 feet in height I am glad you can hear the handling of "deed folk" May you be an or- nament & blessing to the living & always count Dan on my hand heart & purse for what they happen be worth I am sleepy & in haste so I will close with a prophecy You & your love will one day behold these wonderful rocks & waters, Affectionately John Muir
