[1][letterhead]July 21st 1896Dear Louie,We arrived here last evening after a hard ride through dust & the smoke of furning forests from Kootenay Lake on the Columbia & found your telegram & letters from Maggie Helen & Yourself which set my moind more at ease. After leaving Helena wewent to Great Falls on the Missouri by the Great Northern R.R. Thence by a narrow gauge to Shelby Junction on the Great Northern wehre at Midnight we took the train for Belton going to bed at 1 A M. & rising at 4 A.M. to see the Marias Pass in the Rocky Mtns. It was grand with peak streams & forests but O how sleepy we were we arived at Belton at 5.35. AM02130
