""India Proof Edition"" no limitation given: bound into 5 v. with blue library binding. Ill us. as in no. 172. This set, no. 116, we examined at The Bancroft Library. Three volumes contain the text and two volumes the plates. The title page is bound in at the beginning of volume one of the plates and is identical to that above; however, the copyright date is 1888. With it is the ""List of Plates."" The ""Contents"" follows the title page in volume one of the text. We presume this edition to be a reprint of no. 172. We cannot account for the early copyright date of 1887 at the beginning title page of this reprint. Muir's contributions are as in no. 167.
