[California] Dear Sir Your letter was received some weeks ago, and am sorry it has remained unanswered so long, but I have been sick since the 10th of Feb & have not been able to look over my mother’s letters till of late. I have looked over all of mother’s letters but failed to find any from Mr. Muir. Some years ago we were burned out & lost nearly every thing, we had, I guess his letters were burned also, as I know she always kept letter
