In gen I am opposed to changes that would diminish the area of the park. It should rather be increased. A small portion of the S. W. cor where a few mines are located might be cut off provided this would not result in making easy and sure the destruction of the forest. on patented lands there about if practicable the private claims in the sugar pines region should be taken up by government at fair price, or condemned.
