[4]days at Liverpool & get off for home about the last week of September. Write me Care ofDavid Douglas Esq10 Castle StEdinburghbefore I get back from Switzerland letting me know when you will be in Dunbar for if you are not there I will not go back. In case you dont get back in time I hope you can tell me how I can meet you elsewhere & have Maggie go to the Ha[illegible]s with me. Ever Cordially Yours John Muir01107[1][letterhead]LONDON, Aug. 8. 1893Dear Cousins two I feel woefully lost here, & yet Ive had a grand time in many ways since I left you. I went to Dumfries without getting much lost & found Susan I fell in love with her & would have stayed with her an extravagant & unreasonable time had it not been for the illness of Mrs McKie. So I left her next day after my arrival showing in this great & praiseworthy self denial. Then I went to Sterling & through the [illegible] to Oban[in margin: My love to cousin [Mather?]]
