[in margin: I sleep out weeks alone in the upper mtns among the bears but they manifest no disposition to touch me]& if you find yourself very needful next year let me know by June or July & I will save a little for you I shall not need marrying money for some years. perhaps not untill I am too old, so when I have any money you are welcome to it. I have not heard from Miss Pelton for a long time but I believe she is somewhere in the northern portion of this state Give my compliments to your love whom I have not yet seen but whom I am sure to like if she is at all worthy of you. I will be much obliged to you for packing & shipping my Indianapolis trunk. You alone are able to handle my models etc. Pack my trunk with my thermometer ([drawing] this one) & [illegible] the clock which I will need [2][in margin: We will some day drink champagne over those nights wh we passed in the company of Canada wolves]in my cabin & wh will cost but little for freight. Also such of my tools as are light & easily packed, & with such of my clothes as are worth sending I left at least one suit of your clothes. My three or four fine shirts keep & wear, as they would be of no use to me, also anything else wh you need or want. Send also my scientific blank books. & dictionary, I do not want that doctor book wh you will find in my trunk, nor any of my school books, Of pictures, send me [illegible] jacket & Fountain lake & Horne & the drawing of my desk. My plants give in charge to Mrs Moores if she has room for them if not box & send to Sarah - You will find Mrs Moores at 145 Merrill St.. Of my few other goods & cha[illegible] take what will in any [3]
