William and Maymie Kimes Annotation

In this interview, Muir relates his unhappy experience of being interviewed and misquoted by a reporter for the The [San Francisco] Chronicle, especially on the topic of snakes. The reporter concludes with the amusing story of how the famous photograph of John Swett and John Muir conversing on the Swett veranda was snapped from an ambush of shade trees. We did not locate the article in The Chronicle.
