Mono Lake is an ancient saline lake edged by limestone formations known as tufa towers. John Muir visited Mono many times and observed the Native Americans who lived in the area. The tributaries of the lake were diverted to supply Los Angeles with water – sparking a battle over conservation of our natural resources.
